Ærø – the home of shipping!
There is undoubtedly no other island in Denmark, where the maritime aspect plays as significant a role as on Ærø. The smell of tar together with the beautiful vision of old mighty wooden ships is part of everyday life.
Particularly in the town of Marstal, you will find its long maritime history reflected everywhere. Thanks to the continued presence of the Navigation School, a significant number of actively serving seamen together with their families, call Marstal their home. In the context of Denmark, this is a unique position to this town.
