Visit Marstal and lose yourself in the maritime history of Ærø, or experience the sea yourself through kite surfing or one of the other water sports activities on offer in “Det Lille Hav”- the colloquial nickname for the sea off Marstal’s beachy coastline. Don’t forget to visit Marstal Søfartsmuseum – a maritime museum in a class of its own.
Visit Ærøskøbing and soak up the authentic market town atmosphere. Let ancient history and culture under your skin and be taken back centuries. The town also offers a variety of enticing art galleries. Make sure to also pay “Den Gamle Købmandsgaard” in the Town Square a visit, an impressive showcase for local produce og the farmshop Blåbær
Visit Søby for, amongst other attractions, the unique annual arts event, known as “Sommer Skulptur Søby” – where renowned as well as budding artists from the local school of arts, exhibit their work throughout town – or visit Vitsøhus Paradise Garden (Permaculture LANDcenter) with Scandinavia’s only Cashmere goats, alpaca and Indian runner ducks and over 600 different herbs, bushes and trees.
