General Terms and Conditions of Ordering and Purchasing Package Holidays, Accommodation, Transport, Events etc. on Ærø.dk
Ærø.dk and its booking system are the property of Ærøportalen ApS. Ærø.dk allows customers to purchase standard package holidays, customised package holidays, accommodation, transport and various excursion options where Ærø is included as a destination.
We strive to ensure that all information contained in the Ærø.dk booking system is correct and accurate. Ærø.dk is subject to change and Ærøportalen ApS cannot be held responsible for misprints. Details about specific products have been obtained from the accommodation providers as well as other providers of transport, excursions etc. Ærøportalen ApS therefore cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of the information contained in the Ærø.dk booking system.
All purchases made in the Ærø.dk booking system are subject to Danish law, which includes the Danish Sale of Goods Act, the Danish E-commerce Act and the Danish Consumer Protection Act.
All purchases and payments made in the Ærø.dk booking system are managed by Ærøportalen ApS who are responsible for the booking system itself as well as the payments received via the booking system.
If an error occurs in conjunction with a purchase on Ærø.dk, the customer should immediately inform Ærøportalen ApS by e-mail: email@example.com. Ærøportalen ApS will then handle the onward processing of the error.
Questions pertaining to specific services – irrespective of whether these questions arise before or after ordering and payment of the service has taken place – should be directed to the provider concerned.
The prices stated apply until a new price list becomes available. The list is subject to price, duty and exchange rate changes. Ærøportalen ApS cannot be held responsible for incorrect calculations and/or misprints. All prices are stated in DKK or EUR.
Orders become binding on payment of the initial instalment.
A minimum of 10% of the price of the services must be paid on booking/ordering while the balance is due no later than on the date indicated in the confirmation e-mail. If no due date for payment of the balance is stated, the balance will only be due on arrival at the accommodation.
If the accommodation provider is offering a package which includes additional services such as transport, meals, leisure activities, entertainment etc., a minimum of 10% of the value of the total package must be paid on the date of booking/ordering while the balance is due no later than on the date indicated in the confirmation e-mail. If no due date for payment of the balance is stated, the balance will only be due on arrival at the accommodation.
For holiday apartments, holiday cottages, camping cabins and car hire, the provider is entitled to require a booking deposit which will be debited in conjunction with the balance. The return of the deposit is handled by the provider and does not concern Ærøportalen ApS.
For separate bookings of transport, meals, leisure activities, entertainment etc., the full amount must be paid on the date of booking/ordering.
If the balance is not paid as indicated in the booking confirmation, Ærøportalen ApS and/or the provider of the service concerned is entitled to cancel the booking without further notice.
Reference is also made to the specific provider’s terms and conditions of sale.
When a booking in the Ærø.dk booking system has been completed, the customer receives a confirmation e-mail containing a booking number which should always be quoted on payments or when making enquiries by e-mail or telephone.
The booking confirmation, which the customer should read through thoroughly, is additionally regarded as confirmation of the fact that the customer has read and accepted these General Terms and Conditions of Ordering and Purchasing Package Holidays, Accommodation, Transport, Events etc. on Ærø.dk. The booking confirmation constitutes final confirmation of the purchase of the services contained in the booking confirmation.
For the purchase of accommodation or for car hire, the booking confirmation will indicate the date on which the room, holiday apartment, camping cabin or rental car will be at the customer’s disposal. The booking confirmation will likewise state the date of departure/return.
The customer should point out any errors and/or omissions in the booking confirmation by sending an e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
The booking confirmation must be presented at the commencement of the journey/stay/rental period.
The customer may cancel the booked package holiday/accommodation if cancellation takes place no later than 8 days subsequent to booking/ordering. If booking/ordering takes place less than 14 days prior to commencement of the holiday/service, cancellation will not be possible. Cancellation fees, if applicable, constitute a maximum of 10% of the total price of the service concerned.
The customer may only cancel the rental agreement for a holiday apartment, holiday cottage or camping cabin if cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to the commencement of the holiday. Cancellation fees, if applicable, constitute a maximum of 20% of the total price of the service concerned.
Cancellation is defined as the cancellation of accommodation, reduction in the number of guests/rooms, reduction of the accommodation period and failure to pay the balance, cf. Section 3.
Customers wishing to cancel a package holiday or accommodation should note that cancellation must take place by sending an e-mail directly to the accommodation provider as well as paying the appropriate cancellation fees (if applicable). Applicable cancellation fees are stated in the booking confirmation.
The purchase of other services, such as transport, meals, leisure activities, entertainment etc., cannot be cancelled.
Ærøportalen ApS and/or the provider of the service(s) concerned is entitled to cancel the accommodation booking on the grounds of force majeure, natural disaster, strike and fire/water damage. In the event of force majeure, customers will not be entitled to compensation.
Customers wishing to make changes to a booking/order for a package holiday or accommodation should note that changes must be made by sending an e-mail directly to the accommodation provider concerned. Fees may apply. It must also be possible for the accommodation provider to make the required changes.
Complaints must be lodged directly with the provider of the service concerned and must be lodged within a reasonable time after the error has been discovered, but no later than 24 hours after the cause of the complaint has occurred. Customers are under obligation to give the provider a reasonable period of time in which to rectify the conditions that have caused the complaint.
If the complaint concerns a package holiday, and the complaint does not result in a satisfactory outcome for the customer, the customer should immediately or no later than 5 days after the accommodation period has ended send an e-mail detailing the complaint to: email@example.com
Failure to lodge a complaint will entail that any claim for compensation will lapse.
Danish customers are advised to bring their Danish Medical Card.
Non-Danish nationals, with the exception of nationals of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, should bring their passport and visa, if applicable. Customers who are not nationals of one of the Scandinavian countries should check current requirements for entry into Denmark from the Danish Embassy in their home country. Customers are responsible for ensuring that their entry into Denmark complies with applicable regulations.
Customers are further advised to ensure that they are in possession of applicable vaccination papers, insurance certificates etc.
Pets are not permitted without the prior consent of the accommodation provider. If pets are conveyed to the booked accommodation without such consent, this will be regarded as breach of contract and may result in immediate refusal by the accommodation provider to make the booked accommodation available.
Ærøportalen ApS acts exclusively as the agent for the accommodation providers, transport companies and other partner companies on Ærø.dk. Ærøportalen ApS therefore cannot be held responsible for changes, delays, strikes, cancellations, including ferry cancellations etc., or other circumstances beyond the control of Ærøportalen ApS. Where liability of carriers is concerned, travel by ferry is subject to the specific shipping company’s transport regulations, cf. the Athens Convention.

The package holidays available on Ærø.dk only include the island of Ærø as their destination.
Package holidays booked on Ærø.dk are governed by Danish Law no. 472 of 30 June 1993 (the Danish Package Tours Act). Customers should note that Ærøportalen ApS cannot be held liable for additional costs incurred in conjunction with cancellations/delays related to ferry journeys and other transport, weather conditions or accidents that are deemed to be incidents of force majeure.
For the rental of holiday apartments or cottages, reference is made to the provider’s rental terms and conditions which are available separately and are included as an appendix to these General Terms and Conditions of Ordering and Purchasing Package Holidays, Accommodation, Transport, Events etc. on Ærø.dk.
Ærøportalen ApS, who are a member of Rejsegarantifonden (the Danish Travel Guarantee Fund), member no. 2455 – will comply with any decision made by Rejseankenævnet (the Danish Travel Appeals Tribunal) concerning package holidays where liability can be attributed to Ærø.dk.
Claims against Ærøportalen ApS are governed by Danish law and must within a reasonable time period be submitted to Ærøportalen ApS’s venue which is the court in Svendborg.
