Good neighbourliness is everything…
The village of Bregninge is a typical village on Ærø. You will feel instantly at home as part of a tight-knit community, surrounded by good neighbours, lots of families with children and communal events.
In Bregninge a typical week will include helping each other out, by perhaps looking after someone’s pet, while they’re are away for a few days. A quick cup of coffee and a natter next door will also feel as natural as breathing within a short time of living here.
Bregninge was, in 2010, nominated Denmark’s first Blooming Village, an honour which is taken seriously by local residents: a local Council has subsequently been established, which focus on projects for the continued improvement of the village and its milieu.
With its openness, integration into this lovely community is easy. You will be inundated with invitations to coffee Tuesdays, flea markets, lectures, Christmas festivals and arranged walks through the surrounding countryside. Take your pick, there’s sure to be something, which is just your cup of tea.
Bregninge offers beautiful natural surrounding; the sea and beaches are close by and you will find a network of rambling paths in the area. The hobs for cultural and social events are Bregninge Church and the local Community Centre.
